Language:

Majority of Korean are able to speak Korean and English. Many of them are also able to speak other languages.

Medical Care/Medical Barriers/Medical Beliefs:

About 7% of Korean don’t have healthcare. Some barriers Korean experience are; genetic race, language, and cultural beliefs. Some medical beliefs are that Koreans feel as if they were a burden to their family for being sick. If an elder gets sick and passes away, the family caregiver may feel a burden for their family.

Social Hierarchy:

Koreans value each and every one of their family members. Families are so close that if one family member, even in the extended family, makes a great mistake, the entire family will be perceived as that mistake. The parents in the family are meant to set a good example of a loving relationship that is not dominant, but equal.

Diet:

Some Koreans have adapted to the American processed food diet, but many enjoy traditional Korean dishes. Many of the Korean dishes include raw ingredients, rice, and spicy sauces. Some common Korean dishes are Classic Korean Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Kimchi Jjigae.

Life Expectancy:

The average life expectancy of Koreans is 81.8 years old.
