Risks Of Marijuana Smoke

The smoke from marijuana causes certain health risks to the lungs due to the inhalation of toxic substances and irritants. When marijuana is smoked it releases many harmful and toxic compounds including tar, carbon monoxide, carcinogens which can damage the respiratory system. Combustion of marijuana produces similar toxins to those found in tobacco smoke such as particulate matter and volatile organic compound which can lead to inflammation, bronchitis, and other respiratory issues.
